Furthur in Philly |
... only one date, July 7, and my one friend who was eager (or at least, willing) to see them with me can't go. May have to drag husband after all. He didn't enjoy it last year, as some may recall ... I didn't really enjoy it much either since it was 100 degrees outside.
But why only one show in Philly?! Bob and Phil, I feel rejected!! Add more dates!

Too bad it's not the Bay Area (er, where you live)--I could tell the five or so friends that keep insisting I have to fly up there to go see any of the post-DEAD lineups that I have just the person to fill in for me, and you'd be set.
Hmmm, maybe meeting more upper middle class white folk is not what you'd hoped for, but what the heck--they'd tell all sorts of embarrassing stories about me...And, you'd probably run into Rasta (literally; he never seems to stop running from what I read here...).

LOL. I am really going to have to branch out. I'm going to get bold and try to convince some other friend to come along. Son definitely isn't going to tolerate it (I wish he'd get over this "embarrassed to be seen with Mom" thing, but not so far), and husband aims to please but can only be pushed so far.

No shit?! Holy crap--I probably ate a corn-dog while walking past you one summer in the 70s, and you thought you heard "American Beauty is by far the best..." but something--a brat shoving a pound of pink cotton candy in his face--distracted you, you didn't tap me on the shoulder and say "hey, dude--we're BOTH wearing DEAD t-shirts!"

That was a totally miserable experience last year compared to the year before.
The next night they will be at Merriweather Post. Word of warning: The Howard County, MD cops love to bust people at these shows, and sing their own praises in the local papers.
2 nights back in Coney Island too, I see.

Yes, but Merriweather is otherwise a nice venue with good sound. I've seen many shows there.
